Currant Creek is a beautiful, remote campground ideal for family outings, offering plenty of space for recreation and relaxation. There was a slight snafu and the campground next to us had three tents set up in our spot. They let us pick from all the spots they had available and it worked out really nice. We’d never been before so we didn’t know where to pick anyway. There was pretty good coverage of trees, we loved paddle boarding around and saw beavers. It was colder than I expected at night but lovely during the day.

The camp hosts, Becky and Brady, are terrific. They keep the campground immaculate -- or at least as immaculate as a campground can be -- and were clearly very interested in making sure that our group's needs were being met. The campground itself is beautiful, and a welcome site after a long, bumpy ride from the main highway.

I go there a lot - the area is beautiful- the camp hosts are awesome!! But this last trip I had a obnoxious camp next to me that we're in tents - they had an electric fridge to keep their stuff in - they would start up a generator at 8:00 in the morning and it would until midnight and also play music and talk to after midnight with 2 barking dogs - they set up a guest tent for people to come and go (up to 6 people at times) there was no other campers in the D loop that I was in just me and them!! I would of told the camp host after the first night but I was the only one in my camp - I would not of dared leave camp with the way they were acting not knowing what they would do to it!! I just put up with it best I could until I packed up and left - which is when I told the camp host about the situation - they totally understood my problem - there was also new campers coming in that day to use the camp sight I was in - the camp hosts said they would fix the problem with these people so it didn't ruin the new campers outing dealing with these arrogant people that's all about them selves and nobody else!!

My family and I have been coming to Currant Creek every year for over 40 years. We love this place. Joe and Donna, the camp hosts, are the best that we have had over all of those years. They are friendly, hard working and help out with any needs that the campground needs. I have been to other campsites, and they are by far the best camp hosts that i have ever encountered. Please let them know how much they are appreciated.
Thank you,
Gary Arnold

Wonderful place for camping! Clean restrooms and fun campsites
Location Currant Creek
Address:
Wasatch Cache National Forest
Heber City, UT, 84032
United States
From Heber City, Utah, take Highway 40 east for 45 miles to the Currant Creek Junction. Turn off the highway and travel in a northwest direction approximately 17 miles to the campground. The road from the highway is paved for 10 miles and graded gravel for 7 miles.
Stay on the most traveled road. When there are Y's in the road, stay on the road on the east side of Currant Creek, following the Creek to the dam. When you get to the dam, follow the road almost all the way around the reservoir, and you will find the campground near the southwest end of the lake, a short distance from the dam.
Alternate Route:
Take US Highway 40 from Heber City and travel approximately 22 miles southeast to FS Road 082 (Coop Creek Road). There is a Coop Creek sign on the north side of Highway 40. Turn north (left) at the sign and travel approximately 8 miles north. At that point there is another sign for Currant Creek Campground. Turn right at the sign and travel approximately 6 more miles east and south to the campground.
