We got a group site and it was amazing (5) nights. The first two nights a boy scout group was there. A bit loud and they were cutting down live trees to burn! Once they left it was amazing. It rained everyday but totally good as it wasn't the whole day. Bathrooms were super clean. The dirt was defiantly rough (washboard) with trailers but we just went super slow. It took 45 minutes on the dirt road to go the 7 miles. We had a couple of issues with movement in our trailers but we would do it again, just go slow!

I was really excited when I booked this campground online because they had equestrian sites. So we came for the weekend and brought the horses. Well, turns out our “equestrian site” didn’t have anything at all for the horses. I ended up tying to a tree. Other sites on the outside of the loop had some corrals, but they are in terrible condition and have no gates to keep your animals in. They definitely need to be repaired, or even completely torn out and replaced. If you do bring horses, don’t reserve any sites on the inside of the loop. Exterior sites are better.

Great time on the water. Boat ramp well maintained. Campsite (#19) was not accurately described as to actual proximity to bathroom facility (extremely close, felt like flushing was coming through our tent). Generator use by neighboring campsite was loud, which really could not be avoided as sites are extremely close. Fun visit but not worth it (many miles on washboard dirt road) overall.

It was our first time at Currant Creek. Our site on loop D overlooked the reservoir giving us an absolutely gorgeous view; especially in the morning as the sun was coming up. The sites were maintained very well. Each site had its own water station and the nearby bathrooms were clean. We did have to walk to the entrance to loop D to drop off our garbage but wasn’t too bad of a walk. Our parking stall was shared with the neighboring site which made it a bit tight but there was overflow parking by the restrooms. We got no cell service which we thought was a positive thing given that we were trying to ‘get away’ for the weekend. Overall we had a fantastic camping experience. We’ll definitely be recommending this place to our friends and family as well as coming back ourselves.

We love Currant Creek! We are never disappointed even if it rains like crazy, we still have a great time. I like that they have big cement pads so everything stays relatively clean for camping and the deep firepits make for great cooking.

The site was very well maintained and clean! The restrooms were also very nice with flush toilets and was always clean and well stocked.
The hosts were very friendly and professional reminding campers of the rules that made the experience very restful.
The scenery and lake were spectacular!
We're coming back for sure.

Camp hosts were awesome! We took out boat and caught our limits every day, we also took our atv and enjoyed riding the mountain. This was a family reunion and everyone had a great time.

Location Currant Creek
Address:
Wasatch Cache National Forest
Heber City, UT, 84032
United States
From Heber City, Utah, take Highway 40 east for 45 miles to the Currant Creek Junction. Turn off the highway and travel in a northwest direction approximately 17 miles to the campground. The road from the highway is paved for 10 miles and graded gravel for 7 miles.
Stay on the most traveled road. When there are Y's in the road, stay on the road on the east side of Currant Creek, following the Creek to the dam. When you get to the dam, follow the road almost all the way around the reservoir, and you will find the campground near the southwest end of the lake, a short distance from the dam.
Alternate Route:
Take US Highway 40 from Heber City and travel approximately 22 miles southeast to FS Road 082 (Coop Creek Road). There is a Coop Creek sign on the north side of Highway 40. Turn north (left) at the sign and travel approximately 8 miles north. At that point there is another sign for Currant Creek Campground. Turn right at the sign and travel approximately 6 more miles east and south to the campground.
