Our stay was wonderful. The scenery was beautiful, the wildlife was abundant and the campsite clean and well looked after.

There was almost no one on the reservoir and best of all, almost no power boats!
Easiest and best way to get there is off of U.S. 40 past Strawberry Reservoir. It’s route 3100 and paved a good part of the way to the campground. From there the part of the road that is unpacked is pretty good.

Great camp! Do not reserve site D15. It is marked as a group site, but I don't think there is even space for one pup tent. There is a nice double table, but no place to put tents down. Fortunately, the camp site managers let us switch to two sites in the A group.

The roadway or mountain path to get to the campground that the maps sends you through to get to the site is not great, it’s approx 10-15 miles of washboard gravel “road”! If you go any faster than 10mph you are shaken right out of your vehicle and your trailer is as well. It’s also a very narrow one road path that side x sides drive and quads that could lead to some dangerous situations. But the campground it’s self is very nice! Clean, well maintained, with great tree coverage! The reservoir is clean and fishing was decent even from the shoreline! The camp hosts were nice and respectful! The bathrooms were clean and there’s water located throughout the site to fill up with. If the road was better managed or paved I would go again but at this point I wouldn’t want to put my vehicles through the abuse again.

It was a beautiful place and we have been there several times. This year was different. The little store was never open when we went by several
times. Also, when it was time for check out there was no host to be found, except for the one that was hiding inside building and would not open up to help anyone.

Would be nice if ATV'S could slowly drive in and out of the camping loops. It's a headache trailering everything around.

Current Creek campground is always clean, especially the bathrooms! Nicest bathrooms of any campground! The area is beautiful and the ATV trails plentiful!
My only complaint is that you cannot have ATV/UTV’s in the campground unless they are street legal! The problem is I haul my ATV’s in a Toy Hauler and have to take them out to camp in the trailer! I can’t break down camp and load them up every time I want to ride!! PLUS even the street legal side by sides are just a loud, if not louder than my 4-Wheelers, so the rule doesn’t make sense! And besides, there were kids riding a very noisy mini bike all through out the campground all week long and they were never told to stop!!! The rule needs to be modified to allow riding in and out, but not all over the campground!! Again, my 4-Wheelers are no louder than the street legal side by sides!!

The campground was absolutely lovely, and the hosts were so helpful. Everything was clean and quiet, and we’ll definitely be going back.

Location Currant Creek
Address:
Wasatch Cache National Forest
Heber City, UT, 84032
United States
From Heber City, Utah, take Highway 40 east for 45 miles to the Currant Creek Junction. Turn off the highway and travel in a northwest direction approximately 17 miles to the campground. The road from the highway is paved for 10 miles and graded gravel for 7 miles.
Stay on the most traveled road. When there are Y's in the road, stay on the road on the east side of Currant Creek, following the Creek to the dam. When you get to the dam, follow the road almost all the way around the reservoir, and you will find the campground near the southwest end of the lake, a short distance from the dam.
Alternate Route:
Take US Highway 40 from Heber City and travel approximately 22 miles southeast to FS Road 082 (Coop Creek Road). There is a Coop Creek sign on the north side of Highway 40. Turn north (left) at the sign and travel approximately 8 miles north. At that point there is another sign for Currant Creek Campground. Turn right at the sign and travel approximately 6 more miles east and south to the campground.
