What Guests Are Saying
Currant Creek is a beautiful, remote campground ideal for family outings, offering plenty of space for recreation and relaxation. While the access road is challenging and requires maintenance, the campground itself is well-maintained, clean, and features friendly hosts who go above and beyond for guests. Visitors appreciate the stunning views, ample hiking trails, and the opportunity for fishing and water activities, making it a hidden gem worth the trip.

The campground was amazing. The only complaint I have is with the very rude and unfriendly campground host at the entrance of the campground. She was harsh and if we broke the rules we would be "removed from the campground...no exceptions". When we went to ask some questions at our departure, we knocked on their RV door around 10:30 am and someone within screamed, "GO AWAY!" Horribly rude!! We drove 4 hours to this campground and will most likely not be back.

Nice campground a bit off the beaten path. We werenβt expecting the dump station to be a separate charge but overall a well-kept fun campground with good facilities.

Camp hosts were friendly. Campsite was dirty when we arrived after 2 PM. The cost of the dump station is too expensive. It is the only location where we have paid that much to dump our tanks. Would love to have Loop A reservable, as it was pre-covid. Also, site A18 driveway is not big enough to get two trailers with slides and 2 tow vehicles in it. It has quite a slant as you first back it. This should be a single site as it was previously.

First of all this is a beautiful place to camp. That being said the Campground is far from the lake so each trip to the lake is an ordeal, you canβt just walk to it you have to drive. There is a relatively small βbeachβ area that fills up quickly with people. You canβt drive ATVβs in campground even though you are surrounded by trails so you have to trailer them in and out. The Camp Host was condescending. The gravel road to get there isnβt horrible but combined with everything else I donβt know if we will be making a return trip.

We have gone to Current Creek many times. The location is beautiful. The campsites are great. Our frustration this year was with the camp host. We had several "run in's" with her. She stopped by our campsite at least 5 or 6 times to tell us what was wrong. Our side-by-side was parked on the asphalt , but she said we had to drive it on "her" dirt to get it there. She didn't want it parked there. She yelled at me as I drove my side-by-side back into the camp because I came back in through the exit and she needs to check everybody out that comes into the camp. She said she couldn't tell who we were. Her tone of voice was very disrespectful. She caused us a lot of stress. We are not young kids that may cause her trouble. I am 70 years old and have been camping all of my life. I have never been treated the way I was treated at Current Creek. I felt she was very disrespectful of us and that she was "looking" for things to come and criticize us about. We will probably camp outside of the campgrounds if we go up there again.

Absolutely the best camping spot.

Do Not use D14 or even D15 if you have a trailer! The parking area is small and the driveway makes your trailer face away from the Table and fire pit. D14 and D15 share the same parking and it is very small, these should be Tent spots. We were able to move to A10 which is a great spot in an otherwise great campground, the D loop needs to be evaluated by someone with a trailer to get the descriptions updated...

Great little campground. Decent shade, and well-maintained.
In Loop B, bathrooms (with flushing toilets and sinks to wash up) are closest to group sites B2 and B4. One camp site from B4 is off by itself (it seems like it should have been part if B1 rather than B4), so you might want to shoot for B1-B3 if you want all of your campsites close together.
While there aren't traditional hookups for RVs, there are water spigots that you can use to refill your trailer. They aren't specifically marked as potable, but they did have signs asking for help keeping the area sanitary by not washing dishes, etc next to the spigot. They had a standard hose fitting.
Outside of the campground is a spot to dump your gray and black tanks, and refill with potable water. Bring cash (I believe it takes quarters) to use these facilities.
Note: the Co-Op Creek entrance has a gate that doesn't open until June 30. Attempting to take that road will add 30 minutes to your commute if the gate is locked.

Great stay at a beautiful location. We were only there one night, but loved the site. The nature walk was a bit more extra than I expected (nature walk just sounds more casual to me), but it was beautiful and I'd do it again.
Location Currant Creek
Address:
Wasatch Cache National Forest
Heber City, UT, 84032
United States
From Heber City, Utah, take Highway 40 east for 45 miles to the Currant Creek Junction. Turn off the highway and travel in a northwest direction approximately 17 miles to the campground. The road from the highway is paved for 10 miles and graded gravel for 7 miles.
Stay on the most traveled road. When there are Y's in the road, stay on the road on the east side of Currant Creek, following the Creek to the dam. When you get to the dam, follow the road almost all the way around the reservoir, and you will find the campground near the southwest end of the lake, a short distance from the dam.
Alternate Route:
Take US Highway 40 from Heber City and travel approximately 22 miles southeast to FS Road 082 (Coop Creek Road). There is a Coop Creek sign on the north side of Highway 40. Turn north (left) at the sign and travel approximately 8 miles north. At that point there is another sign for Currant Creek Campground. Turn right at the sign and travel approximately 6 more miles east and south to the campground.
