We were in site D7, which is a double site with plenty of room for 2 vehicles, but really only room for one tent on level ground. We made it work by putting our smaller tent on a slight slope. There is an extra large picnic table and a charcoal grill thingy along with the fire pit. The site is pretty far from any other sites and right next to the trail down to the water and over to the dam. The only real negative to the site was the lack of morning shade. We were there in mid-June so it didn't bother us, but I could see it being a problem in July and August. There is a water spigot directly across the road and the bathroom is pretty close. However, that bathroom is near a high concentration of campsites that had a lot of kids so we used the one a few hundred feet up the road. It was much cleaner and less busy. I loved that this site was so close to the water and that there were no noisy ATVs driving around and no boats on the water when we were there. It was so peaceful. We didn't have great luck fishing from shore but had a lot of fun and did catch 2 trout and had them as appetizers for dinner. We bought one bundle of wood (4 pieces of wood) and a bag of ice from the campground host and it was $13 ($5 and $8, I can't remember which was which price). A bit pricey so make sure you're well stocked before you get up there.

Beautiful, peaceful and clean campground. The bathrooms were kept nice. The only issue was a bit of confusion with the site. I paid for a double sight but it was actually a triple site. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

Pretty poor to have a completely open campground and they will only let you use Loop A if you don’t have a reservation. Everyone gets stuck there and it’s noisy. No campground hosts coming around at 10:30 to tell people to quiet down.
Other loops were completely open and could have spread around more. Not a fan of that policy at all!

Upon arrival our reserved site had a spigot next to it but was covered and didn't work. We were told it had been that way for a couple of months. So, we found a site down in Loop A that is now FF which we occupied. We let both camp hosts know of our change. Other than that our stay was very good. The hosts from Loop C that we interacted with several different time were very cordial and helpful.

I wish we had a different spot, we had small trees and no firewood around. Seems other campsites were a lot nicer and had good shade. I love that there is a little shop for emergency needs, and the reservoir is beautiful!

Heber City, UT, 84032
United States
From Heber City, Utah, take Highway 40 east for 45 miles to the Currant Creek Junction. Turn off the highway and travel in a northwest direction approximately 17 miles to the campground. The road from the highway is paved for 10 miles and graded gravel for 7 miles.
Stay on the most traveled road. When there are Y's in the road, stay on the road on the east side of Currant Creek, following the Creek to the dam. When you get to the dam, follow the road almost all the way around the reservoir, and you will find the campground near the southwest end of the lake, a short distance from the dam.
Alternate Route:
Take US Highway 40 from Heber City and travel approximately 22 miles southeast to FS Road 082 (Coop Creek Road). There is a Coop Creek sign on the north side of Highway 40. Turn north (left) at the sign and travel approximately 8 miles north. At that point there is another sign for Currant Creek Campground. Turn right at the sign and travel approximately 6 more miles east and south to the campground.
