What Guests Are Saying

Whiting Campground offers a scenic and peaceful atmosphere with well-maintained sites and friendly hosts. Many visitors appreciated the privacy and cleanliness of the campground, as well as the enjoyable trails and proximity to nature. However, some concerns were raised regarding the lack of water and the condition of the vault toilets, which could detract from the overall experience.

My husband has to have a Cpap machine at night. The first 2 nights was fine but the third night our battery was dead so we had to turn on our generator. It is a Honda and very quiet. The camp host told us to turn it off at 10 p.m. and he didn't care if my husband could breathe or not. Also the bathrooms stunk horribly. They need to be cleaned more often and something done about the oder. I won't go back there.

I wouldn't recommend this park to anyone that needs to smell fresh air and use a Cpap machine. They don't care if your battery dies or you can't breathe or not. They tell you to turn off your generator even if it is quite and doesn't bother anyone. The law says they have to let you use a generator to breathe if you have to, but they don't care about that. The restrooms were horrible 😢. It would make you gag to go in them. You could smell them at least 100 yds away and 3 campsites away.

We tried the yurt for the first time and it was a great experience. It is a little expensive for the fact that it’s still just a tent. So we wished we had running water. The bathrooms are clean and the staff was very friendly. Great campgrounds for family

When we made the reservation (and paid full price) the group site was listed as having water available. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we found that the water had been turned off, and there was no water available. (we assume for construction somewhere, but didn't see any)
The site was also quite dirty from previous groups. There was a lot of trash in the picnic area and throughout the tent areas. There is also only one spot for a trailer, so if your group has more than one trailer, you would likely want to find another spot than Group Site B. The picnic tables are pretty worn down, and most had to be cleaned before we could use them. There's also a trailhead at one end of Group Site B which brings quite a lot of traffic to the site. There was constantly cars/trucks/horses/people going by. So kids had to be careful if they were playing near the road.
There's a lot of trees in the spot which is nice, but we won't be staying here again. For the high cost of the group site, I'd recommend going somewhere else.

Other than no toilet paper in the vault toilets and no water in the taps, we had a great time.
