About Green River Float-in Campsites

The Green River provides spectacular fishing and river-running opportunities, as well as unique geology, outlaw history and Native American rock art. So come to navigate the waters and cast a rod in an adventure the whole family can enjoy. The Green River Float-In Campsites contain 17 sites for river goers to camp along the mighty Green River. What Guests Are Saying

The Green River Float-in Campsites offer a wonderful experience with great wildlife viewing, including sightings of moose, otters, and osprey. Campsites are generally well-maintained, with clean facilities and good amenities like flat tent platforms and fire pits. While some areas may have issues with vegetation or crowding due to guide permits, the overall beauty and tranquility of the river make it a highly recommended destination for camping and floating.

Site had plenty of shade. Tent pads were small so only able to fit 2 tents. Will work great for small group.

we always love Cottonwood Float-In. We just wish there were not so many politics involved in the water flows from the dam, versus the people who support their families on the river (i.e.- guide service companies). River was over 100 cfs lower than previous years, even though the reservoir was at MAXIMUM capacity. There has to be better balance.

Wreckreation.gov is a scam and a bunch of criminals charging the public to access public land. There's a lawsuit against them, contact your representatives to make a complaint about the criminal racket of lawyers that run recreation. Gov

Beautiful campsite, very clean, and well maintained. Room for 3 tents. Right on the river with a picnic table, fire grate, huge Ponderosa and lots of shade. Enough distance from other sites in the area for privacy. Great spot!

For the second time in a row after reserving a float in site at the green river for 3 days I found on my arrival that the person who takes care of the reservation board only wrote down 1 day reserved. This made the other 2 days available for first come first serve campers to take my other 2 days. I talked to the attendant at the little hole entrance booth and he told me he doesn't know anything about the reservation board and couldn't help me. I asked him if he knew wo took care of reservations and he didn't. Again this is the second time this has happened. It makes no sense to make a reservation 6 months in advance if you have no campsite on arrive.

Thanks
Joe Bair

Big pine 2 was a beautiful campsite but it’s a shared campsite. Was kinda weird pulling up with a big group to a camp where someone doing a solo float was there already. Felt like we were intruding. In future I would book both sites!

33 years in a row and counting. Love the camp sites. There were 3 men from California using large lures with 3 sets of treble hooks . They were tearing up fish and filming the fish being caught. Hooks in gills and eyes and it was hard to watch. This incredible fishery should be single hook and barbless.
