What Guests Are Saying

Box Elder Campground offers well-maintained campsites, a friendly and helpful host, and a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of shade. While some visitors found access to drinking water and restroom facilities inconvenient, and noted issues with specific sites being cramped or poorly designed, many enjoyed the beautiful wooded surroundings and proximity to town. Overall, it is praised for its cleanliness and enjoyable camping experience, with several recommending it for future visits.

The camp ground was clean. Shady and quiet. Not alot of traffic or dust. Facilities were well maintained and clean. Close to fishing at Mantua reservoir and ATV riding on the Willard Peak road.

We enjoy our stay every time we stay. The camp’s are clean (for camping) and having restrooms the same are awesome! I can’t imagine a summer without a stay and visit from Stevie & Scott (camp hosts) ❤️🏕

The camp host is overbearing if you have visitors. My 75 year old mother stopped by one her way home from Logan to see the poppies and see the grandkids. Within 5 minutes Of her arrival the camp host brought a payment envelope to charge me for a second vehicle and said any vehicle staying longer than 30 minutes would need to pay. I thought she gave me the envelope to pay in the event my mother stayed longer than 30 minutes. Mom left a few minutes later. The next day while we were away the camp host left me a “writ of non compliance” due to tue situation the night before and a order of payment. I’ve camped here every year and haven’t had a problem with zealous camp hosts until 2022. Not pleased with this experience.

I brought a group of Young Women here for girls camp. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights and loved it. There was lots of shade and many great places to set up tents. There is a field across the parking area where we set up volleyball and hatchet throwing. There are four long tables for eating and crafts. There are benches around the fire pit that fit all of us, though many chose to use their camp chairs. We went the second full week of June, and the first day and night were very cold. But it heated up each subsequent day. Because we were there in June, the poppies were in bloom. Because we were at the end of the road, no one really came by to bother us when they came to look at the poppies.

We went hiking the second day on the Eagles Rise Trail by the Mantua Reservoir and we played in canoes and kayaks at the reservoir on the third day. It was really a wonderful campground and we plan to go back again. The bathrooms have flushing toilets and a cold sink to wash your hands. Bring your own liquid soap to keep in the bathroom. The bathrooms were the cleanest I’ve seen for a campground. The only downfall of the camp is that the bathroom is a few minutes walk back down the road. You do share the bathroom with the other group sites.

I’m excited to camp there again.

Had a wonderful camp host. They seem to spend endless amounts of time working in the campground.
