Im torn on leaving this review... This camp spot is great is you know what you are signing up for. It’s a giant spot with tons of parking, bathrooms, tables and a fire pit.
Me and 3 other families drove up AF canyon, paid the entrance fee to find a spot, eat tinfoil dinners and visit. It was extremely busy so all the spots were taken. We drove as far as we could go until we hit a gate that’s made us turn around. In turning around we saw a camp site in the distance, we walked over and saw another family sitting there cleaning up their meal. We asked if they were done and they told us it was ours to use. We started a fire while the kids threw a football and played tag. An hour in to it the camp manager rolled up and said “hope you have your check books”. I was a little confused but was also okay with paying if needed… until she told us it was $385. I stood there dumbfounded.. I asked if we could pack up and leave and she told us she would write us a ticket if we refused to pay. There were no signs on the lot that said anything about a cost. None of us wanted a ticket so we paid it… that was the most expensive picnic I’ve ever had. As I mentioned earlier, I’d be happy to pay to use the spot but we would never have used the spot if we had known the cost in advance.

This site is fabulous as it's secluded. HOWEVER, you do hear the 4 wheelers across the creek during the day - they are VERY active. At night it was quiet. Saw a couple deer as well.

Our site 64 was noisy. We could hear the activity on the lake below as well as the ATV/motorcycle trafic on the main road. other than that is was very nice.

Beautiful campground! The site was well taken care and had plenty of space for our 8-man tent. We were surprised and happy to show up and find a large stacked of wood left by a previous camper. The convenience of the bathrooms was very helpful with our young family and plenty of shade from all the large trees. Our site was just a short distance to Silver Lake or the Tibble Fork Reservoir (our main purpose for staying there). Granite Flats is a dog-friendly campground and our dog was in heaven. So many sticks to chew on. Would definitely recommend to all our friends and we are coming back.
