Campgrounds were clean and clearly marked, restrooms were clean and easily accessible, camp hosts were nice and happy to answer questions. Unfortunately for us it rained most of the time so we didnt get to do much outside other than a little fishing and kayaking, but we still had fun. Also the water level in the lakes is SUPER LOW right now due to the drought, not really anyone's fault there, just makes for a different experience as the water is more murky than it probably would have been normally and the "beaches" were more muddy, and you have to hike a bit down to the water from the trails.

It was so quiet and serene and surrounded with trees. It will be a perfect stay if theres flush toilet and shower areas.

The campground is beautiful and the hosts were friendly even though he thought I was his son pulling up an almost threw a box at our car. I only add that in because I thought it was a funny situation. The site we had in loop B had a good amount of shade and we saw so many deer hanging around the area.. The only disappointment was the lake levels were extremely low and getting into the lake was an extremely sticky and muddy mess. I'm sure it's a much better place when the lake levels are where they should be. There are vault toilets but they were kept clean. There are some flush toilets at the parking area by the lake.

Campground was nice. Good restrooms. Quiet neighbors. Only downside was the very low water level of the lake due to the drought.

We have been going to Payson Lakes for 20 years and always love it. The lake is a fun place to play during the day, but this year the lake was so low that the mud made it hard to enjoy the lake.
The lake has a nice paved trail that goes all the way around the lake with wild flowers, foliage and shade.
A few miles down the canyon is a easy hike called The Grotto, it is perfect for all and not too long. At the end is a cool cavern with a water fall. Be sure to bring water shoes to get into the water so you don't have to hike out in wet shoes.

Great campsite, clean bathrooms - just watch out for the algae bloom in the lake right now.
