About Red Cliffs Campground

Red Cliffs Recreation Area includes a campground, day use areas, a non-motorized trail system, and interpreted public use sites. Dinosaurs left their footprints, now visible in the sandstone. Ancestral Puebloans lived here in the 10th century, growing corn, beans, and squash along Quail and Leeds Creek. Mid-19th century pioneers farmed here, supplying the area’s silver miners with food. Located within the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, the Recreation Area is managed to conserve and protect the natural and cultural resources of the public lands.

This is a very nice, well maintained campground. It offers good hiking trails, clean restrooms and a nice shade and table at each site. We appreciate the convenient access from the I-5.

The most beautiful of spaces with well maintained, very nice campsites that are all ruined by the presence of generators running at all hours. If you are an RVer who wants to spend the whole day inside of your rig, watching TV and running your generator, great, they allow that here. If you are a tent/van camper who wants to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area in this stunning location, sadly, I can’t recommend it. You’ll be surrounded by incredible trails and steep canyon walls, and the never-ending drone of generators. Such a great location with wonderful facilities, completely ruined by people‘s inability to go without power.

It was raining when I went, so it was a little colder than I wanted, but the campsite and the hikes and the views were worth a little chill!! Highly recommend

Red Cliffs Recreation Area campground is so great! It's very conveniently located with Zion NP Kolob Canyon 20 minutes to the North and St. George 20 minutes to the South. There are many trailheads right from the campground, many are easy to moderate - and even the hard ones can be done and desired and turn back when you're ready if necessary. There are easily accessible dino tracks only .2 miles up from camp, and Anasazi ruins at the end of a half mile moderate hike (! mile out and back hike) which are really nice.
We have stayed here twice and love it so much that it is now an annual tradition in the Fall season. Be aware that it gets VERY hot here in the summer season.
The campground is lovely and also clean.

There is a water supply via hand pumps near each camp site. There are pit toilets. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table, most have a pavilion, but not site 4.
There is ample day-use parking and a nice shady day-use area in the middle - of course campers can use that area too.

We have an 18 ft. A-frame hard side pop-up trailer and fit well in site #4 along with our Subaru Outback Wilderness. We love being up against the red rock cliff.

This is a BLM reservation only campground with 11 sites total. It's a wonderful place to camp.

It was beautiful as always. We experienced a beautiful double rainbow. We also had a tarantula in our camp. It was large enough that it would have covered the palm of my hand! I didn't see a desert tortoise. Maybe next time. The weather was also lovely. We were there during a new moon, so the stars were amazing. Each of us saw a falling star (not at the same time).

Small campground, in magical redcliff formations, restrooms not far from sites. Would definitely return ! Hikes directly from campground.

Beautiful location. Bathroom cleanliness poor. Water spigot floods one of the bathrooms. Bathroom cleaners came at 9:00 pm and parked in our driveway thru with headlights shining right into our campsite for several minutes so that was annoying plus wasn’t sure who they were so that was a bit disconcerting. Didn’t seem to do any cleaning of the bathroom that I could tell either

I stayed one night, arrived late, left early so take this review for what is worth. The spot was easy to find and a good spot. Loved the structure on the site.
