About Red Cliffs Campground

Red Cliffs Recreation Area includes a campground, day use areas, a non-motorized trail system, and interpreted public use sites. Dinosaurs left their footprints, now visible in the sandstone. Ancestral Puebloans lived here in the 10th century, growing corn, beans, and squash along Quail and Leeds Creek. Mid-19th century pioneers farmed here, supplying the area’s silver miners with food. Located within the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, the Recreation Area is managed to conserve and protect the natural and cultural resources of the public lands.

Beautiful, hidden gem of a campground. Easy access to some good hikes. Site 7 was not super private and sometimes downwind of the pit toilets. Would choose a different site next time but I loved the campground.

It is a beautiful location but I never saw any park staff. I registered online and it would not take my senior pass. I was hoping to find a park staff to tell them that I was hoping for a half refund but I never even saw Camp host

4.5 stars (due to the variability in quality of sites). Great little campground tucked away just outside St. George, with a couple hiking trails and dinosaur tracks. Privacy and site quality vary, and they are smaller sites. Some of the sites have uneven ground not very suitable for pitching a tent. Campground has nice views and is in a beautiful spot. Bathrooms were clean, and potable water readily available. Site 3 was great and has a shade structure, Site 4 was tiny and uneven ground and would've only accommodated a van or small trailer in the parking spot, no place to put a tent. Reservations required. Day Use traffic wasn't bad when we were there, only a few hikers wandering through the campground. So we did not experience the noise or annoyance other reviews stated about day use folks.

Beautiful campground. Shade structures and potable water at the site were so appreciated. We were in the area visiting Zion (a bit of a drive but not bad and worth it for the great site) but this rec area is worth a trip on its own.
