The area was beautiful. Stars were amazing the two nights we were there. Short drive to the park gate and you're on the beautiful scenic drive.

Beautiful setting, and a very quiet campground. We stayed in Loop B, site 38, good site. The bathrooms in Loop C were closed so the Loop B bathroom was crowded at times with people waiting but it was a short walk to Loop A. Once or twice in our stay, the wifi would all of the sudden come to life--I think the signal was stronger near the campground hosts, but I'm not sure.

We loved the Fruita Campground! It was quiet, and of course the setting is beautiful. Hiking to Cassidy Arch and the Grand Wash Narrows in lightly falling snow was just magical. After reading all the reviews, we were really looking forward to cinnamon rolls at the bakery... alas, we were there before it opened for the season. That was our only disappointment.

Honestly could not believe that the loud heavy machinery (tree trimming) that started around 8 a.m. and went on all day until dusk, right next to campsites in Loop B orchard side (site 31 and others), was not mentioned on the website. Website states that generators are not allowed in Loop A or B, and therefore I booked a campsite in Loop B to avoid loud machine noises. It was completely misleading. I would have booked a different campsite or campground rather than having my only camping trip ruined by heavy machinery.

The reservation process was easy and with no hassle.
its cool that we can pay with credit cards now. But there were many empty spaces and they looked taken in the reservation map though. The restrooms were clean too. overall we were happy to stay there after a long time not being at capitol reef.

Spent 1 night in February. It was very cold but the restrooms were nicely heated.
Not much else to say other than the campground is pretty much empty and quiet at this time of year.

The representative at the visitor center was very helpful and accommodating in getting my campsite ready for the night. I enjoyed the staff in the gift shop. They two were helpful. I made a small purchase there and moved on to visit capital national Park, which was incredible.

The camp ground was well maintained and really more for those seeking quiet and relaxation. No loud music playing during the night or really loud "party crowd" type activities. It's perfect if you just want to enjoy nature with your family. The camp ground hosts was very friendly and helpful.
