We had a great time at this campground. Wish we had stayed longer than two nights. The campground was really lovely. the trees provided shade, it was truly an oasis in the desert. The campground was clean, quiet and sites were not on top of each other. The deer the live in the campground were fun to watch and everyone was respectful that this is their home. the only weird thing was the fire pits and picnic tables were on the driver's side of the sites, so for people with trailers, you have to walk around your camper to use them. but not a big deal. Oh, and the pie, delicious. It was a great stop between Moab and Zion. A bit out of the way, but not one to miss.

This campground is absolutely beautiful. Site 11 is right across the street from the bathroom, which was very clean. Camp hosts were kind and helpful. We woke up to the sun on the top of the rock face and the deer grazing nearby. Will hopefully be returning soon!

We stayed in Fruita dur to its location within Capital Reef Natl Park. Our site was excellent - no hookups - but that was known going in. We filled with water at the dump station and had a great stay. Only one night unfortunately but would love to come back for more. Do the "Loop the Fold" if you are up to it; Escallante staircase; and don't forget the pie (it was wonderfull)!

I recently spent three nights in the Fruita Campground at Capital Reef National Park. Being that it was autumn, the leaves were a blaze of golden hues. I recommend spending some time exploring Fruita, the visitor center, the Griffin House, the barn, the Fremont River, and watching the wildlife (mule deer, birds). Hiking trails from the campground include Fremont River Trail, Cohab Canyon Trail, and a trail to the visitors center (approximately 2.8 miles round-trip). I found this park to be a relaxing place for camping, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. Oh, and be sure to purchase a fruit pie from the Griffin House. Be there early, or you might miss out (they sell out quickly).
