We love staying at Salthouse Branch. The campsites are large, the access to the beach /water is easy. We love that we are able to put our boat in and that their is designated parking for trailers (not on your site). Make sure to cruise around the lake and find the waterfall! The park rangers are knowledgeable and kind. Bathrooms are well kept. Would absolutely recommend. We plan to continue to visit 1-2x a year.

Nice camping spot very close to the lake good for fishing and kayaking not much mosquitos.
No signal
They only have a few bathrooms and showers
And its not always clean not well maintained very busy
Sometimes they lower the water of the lake to prevent the trout from dying

Salthouse Branch is a great place to camp, et. However, our last trip (Labor Day 2022) the water level was way down from July 4th and the swimming area boundary floats were almost beached. So there were several people swimming past that, again water was low) but they were out to far to the point that if someone needed to come ashore on watercraft, they might not have seen a swimmer and a bad day for all woukd have been. Thankfully no one was injured. My point to all that is; the boundary floats should have been reset so as to ensure safety measures were on point. Common sense mist have, unfortunately some people just lack it or dont have the time (lol) to use it. Again thankfully no one was injured.

This place is awesome! At first I didn't want to visit due to close sites and even after the issue of not being able to stake down my tent in the bottom site, my family enjoyed this place the most. The creek on the bottom sites is relaxing and they have some great picnic and swim areas. The primitive sites are beautiful. The park tenants are so kind and friendly. The small store before check in is very convenient and the staff there are friendly and helpful.

Nice campground! Sites are a little small, but there is plenty to do there. We had an electrical problem when we arrived and tried to plug in. we notified the office and an electrician was there within 10 minutes to fix the problem! There is a cute little store at the entrance to the park. Plenty of beachgoers and we had a lovely picnic site overlooking the water! As a disabled person I would have loved a family shower, however, the bathrooms were very nice and the handicap shower was perfect, one of the best I've ever used
