Good campsite. Not too close to the adjacent campsites.
Be aware that the tent area has small rocks. I'm not sure if all the other campsites are the same way. Recommend bringing a sleeping pad / any extra padding you may have for comfort.

This site was conveniently located and the tent space was hidden back and off the road so we had some privacy. The tent pad was as the bottom of a decent slope, though, and we were nervous because it rained all night but we ended up being fine. The site is super close to the bathrooms without being open to them. Even though this is a non-generator site, the loop behind it allows generators so we were greeted with that noise for a few hours when we arrived. We were there the week before Memorial Day weekend and it was essentially empty in the campground. Other sites seemed pretty open with no privacy so this was good for being in the middle of a loop!

We had a wonderful time. The rangers were very helpful and attentive. The sites were clean and well kept. The bathrooms as well. We were happy that everyone seemed to keep the quiet hours with respect. We will be back!!!

This was my first time camping in Mathews Arm Campground. I have camped many other times in the other SNP campgrounds. I really like this campground as it has a lot of shade, is on a hill which provides for some variety in the terrain, and the sites were all fairly interesting. The camp hosts were also friendly, informative, and excited to be there. We had a great time despite some rain.

The hike to the waterfalls was challenging, but worth the view.

Excellent campsites and well located to Dickys Ridge and Hawksbill hikes. Both areas you need to drive to and lots of overlooks to take in on the way. The campground only filled up on weekends and otherwise was pretty empty during our time in May.

Nice site set back from the road. Pad was big enough for two small tents

Really enjoyed my stay! Super convenient camp store with showers made it even better. Just beware you’ll get to know your neighbors. The campground is small and intimate.
