Hood Park

When we stopped to reserve a site they marked sites on map and suggested us drive through to see which one we wonted it really did help us decide then they we great helping us reserve spot by navigating us though the the on line reservation beautiful place to stay nice play ground for kids.

This park wasn’t very inviting, the host wasn’t very welcoming when we arrived and then knocked on our door making sure we were packing up to leave which we were doing so it felt like we were a nuisance being there which is strange since there were multiple open sites

We have been camping at Hood for 20+ years. We love it! So many trees, good spacing between sites, park personnel are always helpful and friendly.

A nice, quiet park right on the Snake River. Park host drive thru the park on a regular basis, greeting/viiting all of the campers/campsites.

Very clean and neat park. Easily accessible. Nice easy walking trails and small nature preserve, beach area, boat launch, day use area, and campsites with electric. No water hookups at campsites. Free showers that were reasonably clean (I'd rate showers a 4 on scale of 5 being best). Camp hosts were friendly and available when needed. Technically a no-alcohol campground, but I'm sure that's to discourage loud and unruly partying, we discretely had beer and cocktails at our campsite with no issues. If you are boating, the Snake River gets deceivably shallow just upstream, and the riverbed is rocky, we ground our prop. There are well defined channels, but you need to refresh your knowledge of navigational signs.

Always pleasant at Hood Park. The hosts are extremely helpful and friendly, the keep the park very clean and managed. Will be going back and recommending to others.

We rolled into Hood Park with our RV and high hopes—and honestly, the place delivered. Beautiful old-growth trees stretch high overhead, casting shade like nature’s cathedral. The riverside campsites? Picture perfect. It’s the kind of spot that makes you consider quitting your job and living the RV dream full-time.
But then… the spiders.
Hood Park isn't just a campground—it’s apparently also a bustling metropolis for spiders of every shape and size. Walking through the campground felt like participating in an involuntary obstacle course made entirely of webs. Every tree branch was home to a tiny acrobat, and each morning stroll meant getting rained on by spiders dropping gently from the trees like nature's version of glitter. And those webs? You couldn’t avoid them if you tried. I probably hit my step goal just trying to dodge them.
And the RV? Well, it's now officially co-leased. On the way home, we hit 70 mph down the highway, figuring that would shake off any lingering stowaways. Nope. Over 50 spider survivors made the trip, tucked into corners, vents, and apparently forming a union in the bathroom skylight.
I’ve formed an emotional bond with several of them. Carl rides on the dashboard now.

Would I go back? Absolutely. But next time, I’m packing peppermint oil, a Hazmat suit, and charging Carl rent.

Great little campground. The people at the booth were wonderful and so helpful.

Camp hosts were very professional at check in and clearly explained the parking situation and the fire ban. Very helpful with any questions we had and suppled fun stuff for the young ones with us. Peaceful and beautiful spot.

As always, the park and campground are well kept and clean. It was a great, quiet overnight for our travels to Tri cities. Have always loved Hood Park!
