The campground has lots of lovely, mature trees and is very clean. Site #60 was long enough for our entire rig that is about 58' and even had room for another car. It had 50amp but no water. Trash dumpster is at this site and was concerned it might be on the smelly side, it was not. The recreation.gov website to make a reservation was a nightmare. After 30 minutes while traveling and another 10minutes after arriving at the campground, I was still unable to secure a reservation. Thankfully the host at this Corp of Engineers campground was very friendly and helpful and was able to navigate my reservation through the system.

Hood Park camp hosts are friendly and helpful. The park is well maintained with level sites. We enjoyed the trees as the weather was hot during our time there. Lots to see and do in the area.

Not great for tent camping with a view other than RV. Very limited tent space around campsite.

Grass was not well watered, very dry
Picnic benches not clean
Several branches down from trees
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will be reserving again. Close to home. Quiet and peaceful.

Camp Host was Wonderful! The sight was ok, Next time I'll get a bigger spot, I thought they ask size of Trailer when reserving. Come to find out size, is based on truck & trailer length combined, I'm bad, made it all fit on the pad, barely lol... Very relaxing, as I wanted to visit my family whom come by to visit, on my father's side, and was able to process some great pages of the bible, without interruption.
A huge thank you to Host!
A Sense of Humor is Great!

The weather was great however the bugs particularly earwigs were terrible. There were so many inside anything and everything that was outside it was ridiculous. Took us twice as long as it should to pack up because they were in every nook and cranny so getting them out was tough. So many in the nooks and crannies of the tent that we threw it away.!!!!!

I only overnighted. From what I could observe, the park was kept Immaculate. The park personnel were courteous and professional. And even with a weekend camping crowd, I found my stay to be relaxing, and the park itself to be quite peaceful. I will definitely keep this on my list when I next pass this way.
