If you are planning to camp at cougar rock on the weekend and are looking for a first come first serve campsite, I recommend getting there by 7 am! The rangers were all super friendly, helpful and kind, and the campsite was only a 15 minute drive to paradise and all the trails that start from the Henry M Jackson Memorial visitor center. I can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful area but campsites are very close with little foliage to give a sense of privacy

Great campground. You'd think with how big it is that you'd be crossing paths with lots of other people, but it felt like we had our own, quiet space despite being close to the campground's road. Good bathrooms, fire pit, picnic tables, and just a beautiful place.

The campground was great! The bathrooms were clean with flush toilets, soap, space to put your toiletry bag, and very accessible. with the trail shortcuts around, it was easy to be close to multiple bathrooms. the campsite had sufficient space for our tent and car. the location of the campground is very close to some beautiful lakes that are worth to checkout, specifically during sunset.
Overall, it is what I expected a clean campground would be like :)

We had a great time at Cougar Rock Campground. The sites were sufficiently spaced, the bathrooms were always clean and stocked with toilet paper and paper towels, and the park rangers were friendly. We could see Mt. Rainier from the front of our site (E022) and the stars at night were incredible! We really enjoyed the hike up Narada Falls and Lake Louise was a great spot for swimming. The only complaint I have is about the available firewood. You have to buy it from the gift shop in Longmire and it was $15 for a small bundle. Definitely pick some up in Ashford if you intend to have a campfire.

Mount rainier national park was wonderful. Cougar creek was a good campground as a base for great hikes in Paradise area. Very quiet. Appreciate bear box. Dish washing facilities and showers would be much appreciated
