Cougar Rock Campground offers spacious, clean sites with good privacy and easy access to Mount Rainier trails, making it an ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts. The bathrooms are well-maintained, although some reviewers noted a lack of warm water and soap. Challenges include difficult campsite reservations and occasional issues with nearby campers, but the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

This campsite was clean, quiet enough for being so full, and more private than I was expecting given how small it is. The site was large enough that we weren’t on top of our neighbors and we felt comfortable and safe as two young women. The bathrooms were unfortunately right down the hill past one other campsite but with no trail we didn’t want to just cut through their site. This meant walking quite a distance to get around the loop, but the restrooms were large and clean. If you’re headed to paradise on your trip, this is the perfect place to stay. And however early you think you should get to paradise in the morning, leave earlier. It was the most overflowed parking situation we experienced on our trip that august to more than ten national parks.

Big sites, a lot of trees between them. Clean washrooms. Be aware that there is no warm water and soap there. Nevertheless I would be happy to return to this campground again. Closeness to everything that Mt Rainer can offer is unbeatable.

This is a nice campground. Very large, but spread out enough. Some campsites are fabulous - others not so good. Bathrooms are adequate, not super clean but the toilets work and water is available.
RV DUMP has been out of order for years.

The campground was great. Spacious sites, seemed quiet even though it was fairly full. The showers were clean (and even had people cleaning them at 9 at night!). We would stay again.

Difficult to reserve campsites. Difficult to reserve more than one campsite together. No internet service which is required to obtain passes to Sunrise and Paradise. The campsite itself has a lot of slash. The campfire program was geared more towards children and didn't have as much information as I would have liked as an adult. Bathroom facilities good for a campground. Campsites are arranged to be relatively private given their closeness to each other.

Loved this campground and its proximity to the skyline trail! We enjoyed our stay. Enjoyed walking to the bathroom area and seeing Mount Rainer on the way

Campgroud is very nice with good restrooms, camping spots and starry sky views at night. It is very close to Mount Rainier trails.
Campfire was banned in the state during the time I visited but it is not mentioned in the campground website.
