Our site was close to the restrooms trash and water station and gave us an opportunity to do some night photography early in the morning and had the park to ourselves. Our site felt secluded even though we were close to others. Easy check in and easy to follow loops.

Campground is very pretty, but be prepared for very small spots and small parking areas. You really want to do your homework and check out sites online before choosing. Some sites even have the table / fire and tent pad on different levels.
Also be aware that each loop only has one bathroom and one water spicket (located at the bathroom). For us, this was a very long walk to retrieve water and bring it back to our site. You will definitely water to bring some sort of water collection jug that you can drive or roll back to your site.
You also need to plan ahead for firewood. It is not sold at the campground, but at the general store about two miles away. It would have been nice to know this before we arrived.
Finally, I booked my reservation exactly six months in advance and received multiple confirmation reminders before my reservation. However, about five hours before check in, I received an email that had a different site number. When I arrived at the campground, the rangers couldn't figure out why I had been removed from my original site. The one I was moved to was far smaller and couldn't accommodate four people. I was eventually able to get my original site back, but only after multiple conversations with the rangers.

Campsites were extremely well taken care of, the park rangers were extremely helpful and even gave alternative places to check out due to the high demand for this place.

Sites are very tight and best suited to smaller backpacking tents. It's still a very unique campground and very beautiful.

It's my ideal campground, quiet, deep in the forest. Short walk to the bathrooms. Lacking much sunlight, so dark (good for sleeping, but cold). No coverage for T-Mobile and no power hookup at sites.

Booked at a first come site at Cougar Rock Campground without any problem. Site was clean and comfortable. Rangers were always present and accommodating. Restroom was clean. Spent 4 days there while doing a series of challenging day hikes. Great base camp for exploring the park. Only downside was having Stevens Canyon Rd closed which limited access to the other side of the mtn. That was really a quality problem because there was plenty to do on the Longmire side.
