What Guests Are Saying
Kalaloch is praised for its stunning natural beauty, proximity to the beach, and great accommodations, making it a favorite destination for many campers. Visitors enjoy the tidepools, beautiful sunsets, and clean facilities, with some noting the helpfulness of the rangers. However, concerns include the need for better maintenance of the campground, issues with broken facilities, and a complicated reservation process. Despite these drawbacks, many campers express a strong desire to return.

We were fortunate to get a mid-September reservation for this beach-front location in Kalaloch. The campground is clean and quiet and the services are more than adequate. Campsite RV pads are very tight, but the picnic table layouts are good and offer a modicum of usable area. You'll be fairly close to your neighbors behind and beside you. Erosion has closed a number of the very front sites, which actually provides more viewing space of the oceanfront for setback campsites. Warm, layered clothes are recommended at this time of year and the prevailing incoming wind is fairly constant.

Beautiful setting, peaceful, spectacular. Spacious campsites. Convenient restrooms. And the icing on cake: bioluminescence in the waves at night! Truly magical.

awesome campground. sites in the D group are right off the highway so lots of noise but there are plenty of sites at the facility that are tucked back and closer to the water.

The beach was great especially for day break walks before others got out. Visit the rain forest a few miles north.

This campground has wonderful ADA websites that are basically always reserved by non permit holders. the rangers do not care. ADA sites are on the reservation system and if any are first come first serve they are suggested by rangers to non permit holders. My partner is in a wheelchair and loves this campground, but unless we get lucky on the reservation system, an ADA site isn’t an option. Parking is tight in some spots. Rangers wouldn’t allow me to pass a reserved site to a family member driving to me and reserve a first come first serve for myself. The campground was full when they arrived. Rangers then asked us multiple times to rearrange our 2 cars so no tires were touching grass (2 were slightly off on one car) while other sites had vehicles fully on the grass. I wish the rangers had this same energy for preserving ADA sites for disabled members of the community.
