What Guests Are Saying
Kalaloch is praised for its stunning natural beauty, proximity to the beach, and great accommodations, making it a favorite destination for many campers. Visitors enjoy the tidepools, beautiful sunsets, and clean facilities, with some noting the helpfulness of the rangers. However, concerns include the need for better maintenance of the campground, issues with broken facilities, and a complicated reservation process. Despite these drawbacks, many campers express a strong desire to return.

Beautiful campground with campsites overlooking the Pacific ocean. Restrooms are modern and clean but do not offer showers. You might think that the highway causes some noise pollution, however, the relaxing ocean sounds drown out any cars passing by.

Coming from East Los Angeles, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Kalaloch. But my expectations were surpassed. This campground was so close to the beach, just a couple minutes walking distance. Not only that, but the restrooms were fairly close to my campsite, which was C002. The one thing that made me give 4 stars instead of 5 was that the campgrounds were fairly close to one another. I would have wanted some more privacy with my fiancé, especially with the lady adjacent from us who who had a dog that wouldn’t stop barking. All. Day. Long. And not only that, all we could hear he say was “BARKELY, STOP BARKING.” Maybe she shouldn’t have named her dog BARKley. So it was her dog barking and her barking as well. Other than that the Kalaloch campground was one I won’t forget about. It was very fun and a great memorable experience. I won’t ever forget it. Additionally I would like to add that the atmosphere here in Kalaloch is majestic. The lush trees and bright green atmosphere felt something out of a fairytale. No pictures, videos, or any online images with do this place justice. You just have to experience it for yourself. That being said… Kalaloch, until we meet again. ;)

a pretty small site but close to the bathroom and water spigot (a pro or con depending how you see it). the whole campground is close to 101 which is convenient but loud, especially with lots of logging trucks driving by at every hour. was a lovely location though otherwise and i recommend:)

My partner and I had an amazing trip at Kalaloch! We were so grateful to have out dog with us and to be able to bring her to the beach. The campsite felt so tucked away in the dense trees, so we didn't feel like we were just surrounded by campsites on all sides. The sink in the bathroom nearest to us wasn't working which was a bummer, but certainly not the end of the world. We had our sanitation products to keep ourselves relatively clean. We will definitely be returning here someday soon hopefully!

Site A025 was a great campsite with an ocean view and a little bit of shade as well. The path down to the beach was just a few campsites down. The beach itself is fantastic, soft sandy beach, great for kids to run around. Short walk to the tree of life. Highly recommend this campground and this site specifically.

Beautiful quiet campground at night. Right at the beach and you can hear the waves breaking.
