What Guests Are Saying
La Wis Wis Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, great access to hiking trails, and the nearby Ohanapecosh River, making it ideal for nature lovers. While some guests noted issues with maintenance, lack of potable water, and crowded conditions, many appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the overall charm of the campground. The location near Mt. Rainier and the peaceful atmosphere during weekdays were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects of the experience.

I really don't know what the other recent posters are talking about. We just returned from an awesome time this week at La Wis Wis. Granted we went from Sun-Wed, when it was a little quieter. We stayed down E loop and was very happy with the site, the river, the Blue Hole etc. I would bring in outside wood as the place they use is a joke. Four pieces, and two of those were knot filled so could not make decent kindling. For $8!! Transition days seem to Sun and Wed. We've also stayed in B & C loops previously and have had great times. Toilet sites were decent and some garbage sites were full, but easy enough to get to the next one.

They weren’t cleaning the both rooms due to covid-19, seems counterintuitive. Other than that it is a beautiful camp ground.

I have been staying at la Wis Wis for 40 years, my mother over 60. This was the worst experience we’ve ever had by far. We arrived to find the trash cans and dumpsters overflowing and the campground host was not around. We arrived a day earlier than the rest of our group, but had reservations for more sites the next day. They campground hosts failed to put up the reservation cards and the river site my parents had reserved in January for the group was taken by someone else. We pointed this out early Friday to the host, who said he would have to check into it, but was going to town for the day. He was gone until early evening and the people in our site were nowhere to be seen. We told him to forget it and that we just would take a refund, as we had all set up in the other sites we had. Two hours later, he came back and told us he had gotten rid of them and that we could move. It was as if the previous conversation had never taken place. On top of this, some of the outhouses were full, one was locked (the camp host didn’t have the key) and there were people camping all over the day use area, even though it is clearly marked that you can’t do so. It was an awful trip in a beautiful campground, all due to the incompetence of the staff.

No reserved signs on our reserved spots. People had moved into the spots. We had our confirmations and emails reminding us of our reservations. Camp host was worthless.
When we arrived there was garbage everywhere. Pit toilets and flush toilets in loop D and A were locked. Sanicans replaced them in one area but they were full to the brim. They were never emptied.
I believe the company that took over this year deserves an F rating. We’ve asked for the $ back for the sites we paid for but could not use. We’ll see if we ever see a cent.
