What Guests Are Saying
La Wis Wis Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, great access to hiking trails, and the nearby Ohanapecosh River, making it ideal for nature lovers. While some guests noted issues with maintenance, lack of potable water, and crowded conditions, many appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the overall charm of the campground. The location near Mt. Rainier and the peaceful atmosphere during weekdays were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects of the experience.

This campground is one of my favorites - huge trees, lots of shade, and at the cross section of several rivers. Such fun times have been had here! It's also very close to Rainier, and all the trails the Park has to offer. I instantly booked another trip as soon as we returned. Tips: bring 98% deet (for biting bugs) and a good, camping attitude.

I would LOVE to give this 4 or 5 stars, as the campsite itself is beautiful and the location is fantastic! HOWEVER, the bathroom situation was **atrocious**. Some vault toilets were locked (like the one by us), and port a potties were there instead. They were FULL....absolutely disgusting. I asked the camp host about this and he had no idea when they would be emptied. It didn't seem like there was any regular schedule to having them cleaned. I don't know if that was his responsibility as the host, or the management company's of the campsite. Either way, for a heavily populated campsite, (which I'm sure it normally is regardless of COVID), it just didn't make sense.
The campsites were fairly big for the most part, with the exception of ours (C17). Fortunately we were able to move sites, but we had to pay (couldn't transfer the reservations per management). Still worth it to trade. River access was nice, and the proximity to Rainier is great. Again, a great campsite with the exception of the bathrooms. I hope they get that issue resolved!

Beautiful campsite. However the facilities were not well taken care of. The porta potties did not have toilet paper in them and were very full. We walked to a different area of the campground for a better bathroom.

Amazing campground. Our site was amazing right on the river! Loop D 18M!!!
Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 Star is, this site says check in at 4pm and check out at 2pm.
Our last morning we had a large breakfast and were relaxing then one of the camp host came by and some how it came up that check out was 12, not 2pm, which is very frustrating that this site says 2pm! We had an hour to clean and back up a double site.

We stayed in H Loop. We have a 28' travel trailer. While this loop is not as pretty as the other loops, it was still a good time. We like how close this campground is located to an entrance to the Mt. Rainier NP. We met the camp hosts and they were great. The loop was checked on by the hosts on a regular basis, offering firewood, etc. We plan to come back.
