What Guests Are Saying
Bonaparte Lake Campground is a beautiful, well-maintained site in a remote area of NE Washington, offering great access to the lake for swimming, fishing, and boating. Campers appreciate the friendly hosts, clean facilities, and ample space at campsites, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings and outdoor activities. While some concerns were raised about noise from unruly campers and the distance to dumpsters, the overall experience is positive, with many planning to return.

This campground is a gem! The lake is serene and beautiful, with resident loons. Despite the lack of cell service (or maybe BECAUSE of this?) we had a wonderful time. Our campsite was right on the lake, so we could put our kayak into the water easily and often. There were not many mosquitoes, and our neighboring campers were very pleasant.

One of our favorite places to camp. Only negative is no cell signal, but for some that may be a plus.

This is our family's 4th year camping here, so we obviously love it! Biggest downfall is lack of cell service, showers and flush toilets on reserved side. Biggest asset to us is the quiet lake as we are a kayaking family.

My husband and I spent 4 nights in spot 24 and it could not have been more wonderful! large campsites, wonderfully laid out, clean, and beautiful setting. Small boat launch is perfect for small fishing boats. MY husband used to camp here as a kid, and was happy to see it rather unchanged from 25 years ago. The fish are rather over-fished in the lake, but that did not put a damper on our wonderful weekend!

This camp ground is remote. There is no cell service. Nice and quiet in the sites on the south side. Seems to be lots of fish in the lake, though we didn't catch any. Lead weights are not allowed so get some steel ones before coming. Lake is a good size for paddle boarding, though wind picks up in the afternoon quite a bit. Camp sites are spacious and near the lake. We've been here three years in a row for Memorial Day. In 2023 there were a lot of mosquitos unlike prior years. Also, the trails on the west side of the lake are destroyed due to the fire that came through a couple years ago and then water washing parts of the hillside down. No showers.

Had a great time there for our wedding reception. The camp sites are great, the pavilion and huge camp fire pit really came in handy.
Will be back

Recreation .Gov only shows the sites at Bonaparte lake which can be reserved. Even the map of the campground does not show the other sites which do not require a reservation. These gives a person false sense that they must reserve a site through Recreation. Gov with its service fee.

Our site was very clean and had an excellent, large fire pit with flat rocks around the edge. The big main washroom was very clean, well lit, heated (!) and had plenty of paper towels and toilet paper.
We loved this campground.
