The grueling twisty steep drive up into what feels like the middle of nowhere is rewarded by the beautiful park like oasis at the top. This is not a one-night destination. Stay for a week. The hosts are professional and friendly. This is a prime example of the best of what a Rec.gov campground can be.

Great hosts. Very peaceful campground. And the lake is terrific. Such clean and clear water. Great for fishing, kayaking, and swimming.

The rule to only allow a 3 x 5 rug is front of a camper is not a solution to the issue caused by building the parking pad higher than the surrounding lawn. I realize you are trying to save the grass but you have created a mud puddle right outside the camper doors. Increase the gravel area beside the pad to give us a drained area to stepped out of the camper. Allowing two tents on a site is surely more of a problem than a rug outside of a camper door.
The second issue that I just experienced this year is filling my fresh water tank. Previously I used a rubber adapter to slide onto the faucet and hold in place to fill my tank. This year I was told the Ranger said this is not allowed? I already have to use my blue tank to take my waste outside of the campground be there is not a place to dump inside the campground and not sufficient room to turn around and get back into the campground. I am 75 years old and do not have the strength to hold a five gallon jug of water to dump into my fresh water tank. I fail to see the issue with using the faucet.

A beautiful park which was well maintained. We loved the large well spaced RV sites. And the staff was amazing! We did have a problem with an intrusive guest (who was not staying at the park) who entered the park & onto our site. Staff and local law enforcement was quick to resolve the problem.

Beautiful campground. Camp post was extremely friendly and informative. Only downside with a little bit of foul weather run out we had a great experience.

Very nice and clean. Just enjoyed the peace and quiet. Swimming, fishing and boating close by. You can visit Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley. Would highly recommend staying here.

The campground was quiet and orderly. Kids could and did ride their bikes in the campground safely. The sites are a little short for most RV motor homes but adequate for trailers and tents. The beach and overlook was still closed but the boat ramp was open and not crowded.

The facilities are good. For understandable reasons you shouldn't bring firewood from far away but the wood sold at the camp store was green and unburnable. Next time I'll bring heat treated wood that's both safe for the environment and seasoned enough to burn.
