Spruce Knob Lake offers a beautiful and spacious camping experience with well-maintained facilities and stunning views, particularly of the stars. While some campers experienced issues with site reservations and cleanliness, many praised the accommodating staff and privacy of the sites. The area is popular for its hiking opportunities and serves as a great escape, especially during warmer months.

Loved the secluded tent sites. Rained a bit while we were there, but the campsite did not get muddy, which was a plus. Will return, for sure. This was my third stay here.

Spruce knob lake is one of my favorite place to go for star gazing and camping. It has very dark sky and beautiful view.

Reserved site for only one night because that was the only reservable site available with plan to slip into a first come site next morning. Worked as planned. It seems 40 percent of reserved sites were no shows. Its about a 45 minute drive down to rt 33 so seneca shadows is more convenient but this is cooler. Pit toilets are new and well cleaned. Water was fine. Sites are fairly private.

In past years, this campground was kept very neat with campsites well-maintained. This year, it seemed like little to no mowing or weed eating had taken place in quite a long time. There were tall weeds around all of the campsites and along the road. We camped here three years in a row, then skipped last year, then camped again this year, so I am comparing this year with summer of 2018 and before. The difference was stark. Also, I was told I would receive a 20% refund because there was no water available when we camped, but I have still not received the refund two weeks after receiving the email saying I would receive it automatically.

Very nice and clean site. The site was level. It was wooded and we felt secluded even though folks were nearby.
