Friendly & helpful gate attendants, nice camp hosts, washers & dryers available and a beautiful lake!!! We appreciated the "no pet" rule since it made for a much more pleasant camping experience. We are not dog haters but really feel that there are some dog owners who do not obey the leash rules or allow their pets to bark incessantly. The only negatives for us : many of the sites are not very private, the bathrooms could be a bit cleaner and the park rangers do not enforce the rules pertaining to parking within the gravel area of your campsite. We have never been to an Army Corps Campground that allows people to park all over the grass. It makes the campground feel so congested with cars, boats & boat trailers parked everywhere. We didn't understand that because there is ample overflow parking at this campground but I guess that since it is not enforced, people are used to parking in that way. 😢

The only complaints I would have is A) the grass was horribly high. Bugs were everywhere. And B) one of the bath houses smelled like sewer anytime the showers were running

Very nice campground. Clean, quiet, and very enjoyable. Staff was pleasant. Love the access to the lake for boating and fishing. Campers are spaced out nicely. We will definitely be back.

Battle Run is a great campground with lots of room between sites. Great place to boat, hike, and mountain bike. Also it is close to whitewater rafting and many areas to fish.

Layout, atmosphere, lake water and facilities are all EXCELLENT. Booking a spot at this campground online is frustrating... to say the least. The Recreation.gov website is less than intuitive, the rules of advance booking are confusing, as it is always a mad scramble six months in advance. Even more infuriating are those who obviously choose not to show up on a week they booked, yet the web site says the spot is unavailable. I watched a desired spot sit empty all week long.

- NO PETS or livestock permitted
- All motorized recreational vehicles, including motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATV), utility terrain vehicles (UTV), mopeds, scooters, golf carts, hoverboards, etc., that are not licensed for use on all roadways are prohibited in the campgrounds.
- Please contact the campground or lake office for questions on power driven mobility aids
- You may stay up to 14 nights during a visit at this campground.
- No person(s) may camp at one or more campsites for more than 14 days in a 30 day consecutive period at Summersville Lake. This includes the reservation holder (primary occupant) and all other overnight occupants.
- Any person utilizing a Federal Pass for a discount on camping fees must present the discount pass upon request, it must be signed on the back of the card, be registered on the campsite, and occupy the site overnight for the entire duration of the reservation to receive the full discount.
- You may only be registered as the primary occupant at one campsite upon check-in.
- The primary occupant is responsible for the adherence to camping rules and regulations by all other occupants, guests, and visitors on the campsite.
- All trash and debris must be completely removed from the campsite upon departure.
