What Guests Are Saying

South Fork Campground is highly praised for its clean facilities, attentive camp host, and beautiful location near the creek, making it ideal for exploring the Bighorn Mountains. Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, well-maintained trails, and the relaxing sound of the nearby stream. While some noted that campsites are close together and that fire pits could be better maintained, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Perfect camp site. The 5 tent-only sites were spaced out and very quiet. We drove through several campgrounds on our trip and felt that the South Fork location (both tent-only and traditional sites) was the nicest we found. The campground and toilets were very clean. It is only 20-25 minutes back to Buffalo if you want to re-supply. There is a mile long trail that starts at the tent-only sites and goes to the back side of the Tie Hack Reservoir. Couldn't be happier with our stay.

South Fork--beautiful, clear rushing creek waters, beautiful overhead evergreens, walking access to Gallatin Forest Trails--it's beautiful! Campsites feature wheelchair-accessible tables, flat areas for parking RVs or setting up tents, and there is beautiful shade and very clean restrooms. Highly recommended!

Ms. Debbie was awesome. Very friendly and professional. She kept the park and facilities very clean. She didn’t mind visiting with you for a few minutes to make sure everything was good.
