What Guests Are Saying

Sulphur Campground is praised for its beautiful location by a creek, cleanliness, and well-maintained facilities, with friendly hosts and abundant wildlife, including moose sightings. However, some campers experienced issues with campsite sizes, unavailability of hosts for firewood, and a lack of water during their visit. Overall, it’s considered a lovely spot for camping, with great hiking and fishing opportunities.

We plan this trip to be around family, relax and escape the heat of the city. This campground was all we expected and more. What made the difference was its hosts who kept it extremely safe and clean!

Good experience camping at Sulphur Campground! Restrooms were very clean and the campground host was friendly. Rec.gov description of the location of the campground is incorrect however, it is on the east side of highway 150--not the west side!

This is a gorgeous area. The camp host and his friend were awesome and kept the pit toilet immaculate (never thought I would say that). It was generally quiet as you are quite a ways up. Unfortunately, since you are so close to the road any construction is annoying. But it should be a great road from the camp entrance continuing North. We were in group site 4. Don't plan on any large tents as our 12x12 was placed on the pull through road. We set up two smaller tents and with inflatable mattresses went ok. Pretty rocky section. The creek was pleasant when we visited and saw the beaver dams, but didn't see one. According to the camp hosts friend its the best camping in the Uintahs. We loved it.

Site 15 is awful and does not match the picture that is linked with it. The site has 0 trees and is completely out in the open. It is not by the river as the picture suggests but across the street. Luckily we live close in SLC and left early after just night. Site 15 should not even be a spot it is so bad.

The camp hosts at Sulpher Campground were absolutely incredible! They kept the bathrooms so clean and were friendly and outgoing and a joy to talk with. Our group loved the group campsite and everything about this campground. It's one of the best in the Unitas!
