What Guests Are Saying
Bald Mountain Campground is praised for its cleanliness, friendly hosts, and beautiful surroundings, including abundant wildlife and scenic trails like Trail 122. However, some sites are closely packed without adequate separation, and there were issues with water availability and rule enforcement. Overall, visitors enjoyed their stay, appreciating the quiet atmosphere and stunning scenery.

A great place, clean toilets, just wish the ten sites had a designated graded level tent pad/area with timber borders like some other national forest sites have.

In the middle of a nice forest, good private lots. Two water sources, self registration for 20 USD. Good budget option for solo travelers

If you want to be away from the clutter, hang at Bald Mountain CG for a few days. Quietude, herd of elk on Bald Mountain. You can't beat it.

2 years I have stayed at this high elevation campground for several days. Each year, including this, the vault has not received cleaning/toilet paper replenishing service.

Everything was good, met expectations. One comment: On some of the sites when first entering the grounds, the site number was not legible, needs fixing.

Campground was pleasant, only 15 sites. Toilets were clean and supplied. Handles on water pumps were not installed until a day after our arrival. There is a resident female moose who showed her presence several times. First time was a little scary because it was unexpected. She was just eating the shrubs along the road. Must see Porcupine Falls. With all the rain there are 2 falls. Beautiful! We hiked to the top of Bald Mountain. Could not find a trail so made our own path. Watch for elk on the mountain in the early mornings and evenings.

Beautiful campsite next to a small creek. Had half a dozen mule deer visit numerous times. Could have used some firewood, but there was no camp host and we couldn’t find a Ranger at the ranger station, nor a stack of wood. Will definitely come back.
