What Guests Are Saying
Bald Mountain Campground is praised for its cleanliness, friendly hosts, and beautiful surroundings, including abundant wildlife and scenic trails like Trail 122. Awesome campground - we loved the camp host and thought the setting was perfect. We liked how quiet it was compared to other campgrounds in the bighorns. We will come again!!!

We arrived to our reserved campsite to have a large family group on our picnic table and their pickup and camper blocking access. They said they reserved another site and could we just wait twenty minutes. We nicely asked them if we could just pull in and set up when we were informed
that people were jumping campsites and they didn’t see a reservation on this site. I did have a screenshot with my reservation.
The one lady was extremely rude to us which was uncalled for. It was the worst experience we have had camping. I am not sure if they just wanted this site because it worked best for their 7 vehicles, tents, and multiple trailers or if they genuinely had been bumped from their site.

The campground host, Don, was very helpful and friendly. He keeps a great campground and the toilets were exceptional. The campground and nearby Porcupine campground are very nice. Next year I hope to spend more days there.

Beautiful, alpine CG. Our site (6) was open which allowed our RV’s solar supported batteries to charge. We stayed 2 nights and explored the area by Jeep. Visiting and hiking to the National Historic Medicine Wheel nearby was really a treat and very much enjoyed!
Driving 14A was a spectacular drive, not to be missed. Steep climb and descent, both driven slowly but worth the effort. We drove our 25 foot RV with tow.

We were there for two nights in site 7. It was incredibly windy and pretty cold both nights, with only an hour of calm each night around 3-4 am (so surprising it would wake me up). The campground is nicely appointed, but it really is on top of the mountain with a strong Northeast prevailing wind, so choose your site carefully or you'll be very chilly!

We were in a great site right by the small creek that ran behind it. We had a yearly moose walk right through our campsite. We only stayed there one night on our way to Yellowstone but while there you need to go see the Medicine Wheel which is about 10 mins away.

A wonderful place to find peace and quiet. Small, rugged and away from city lights.
