The camp spot was great and had a wonderful time there for 5 days with our friends. The camp host is not located at this campground, so services from him were late or nonexistent. Toilet paper was out in the outhouses a couple of times, campfire rings weren’t cleaned out, and the garbage was full. We all had self contained units, so those things weren’t as annoying to us and those who were camping in tents.

Due to nearby Crater Ridge forest fire the access to the mountain roads, trails, and streams was forbidden by USFS. The air quality was very poor so decided at last minute not to use the campsite. Rating reflects USFS closure and smoke not campground or hosts. Have stayed at Bald Mountain 3 previous summers and enjoyed the area.

Good location, close to the Medicine Wheel. Too many large RVs that tended to dominate the landscape. One RV showed up at 6am and spent the next 40 minutes trying to get situated in its spot with the backup beeps incessently going off. We thought it was a fire alert. How inconsiderate and annoying.
No firewood available. There was a few pieces of extremely green wood at our site that was useless. The water pump near our site was out of order. The restroom was clean.
Our previous experience a few years back was much better.

This is a small cg with tall trees and a true sense of the mountain. Best for adults & those who want a quiet space.
