This is a great campground. The sites are spread out, and there was a great view of the mountains from ours. Unfortunately we didn't see the bull moose that had been frequenting the area...
The host was very attentive without going overboard. We had a great time. The only thing to note is that there were more mosquitoes than some other places in the Bighorns, so I'd recommend bringing a screen tent if you have one.

The vault toilets were very clean and usable. The campsite was large, clean and well sited. The road into the site has some pretty bad washboard areas. We would definitely camp there again. We tent camp and many places are not so good for us that was not the case here.

The campground was abandoned and a snow drift covered the entrance. We couldn’t stay.

September is great. It’s excellent while the camp host is present. Restrooms are purt near immaculate. Firewood is available. Trash bins are available and the pump-it-yourself fresh water is great for both camp needs and essential for dousing the campfire. One safety/convenience suggestion? Keep the pump available for a period after the host departs. Have a Ranger a shut it down and wrap it just before the front gate is locked for winter. That pump and the handy Home Depot bucket are so great for making certain the fire is out out. Why not let folks have access for a few more weeks or a month?
