I had reserved spot 9. It isn’t the greatest spot there, but I am vary familiar with the campground doing service work with the Forest Service for 20 years. Upon arriving, spot 9 was torn town and I was put in the center of the loop next to the restrooms. I left and stayed at lake view. I was upset so I didn’t talk to the camp host.

Very nice small campground. We enjoyed our site. The only problem was that the well was not functioning, so there was no water available. We found out from another camper that there was a well at a nearby trailhead.

We didn’t stay at Ten Sleep Lake. We stayed at Island Park another day because the spot I reserved at Ten Sleep was a rocky ,sloping ,over flow spot.
Island Park was wonderful and we plan to return.

Wound up staying at Boulder Park rather than West Tensleep Lake so this review will take that into account.

Beautiful setting; ripened wild strawberries abounding in the clear-cut area above the campground; grounds are conveniently situated next to creek but high enough above that flash flooding isn't a worry; sites are spaced far enough apart for ample privacy; location is prime for quick accessibility back over to Meadowlark Lake or up FS Road 27 to West Tensleep Lake and the trailhead.

And - foremost - quite possibly the greatest, hardest-working campground hostess I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. My in-laws decided to come along on this trip and booked their site in the only available area site which was at Boulder Park. They spoke with the campground hostess and asked if I could switch our reservation from West Tensleep down to Boulder. Through communicating with the host up there, the lady at Boulder facilitated this change and it was an honest-to-goodness example of how government should serve people.

USFS can be very proud of how well those two hosts worked things out for us. Please know how grateful we are.
