Dump station was not open. We have been going to Prune Creek for 20 years now. There is a bridge that got washed out at least 10 years ago which has yet to be fixed. Disappointing that it has not been take care of. We hope every year that it will be fixed but seems to be a very low priority.

This June, 2023 was a repeat of several camping trips to Prune Creek over the years. This year was extremely wet, rain had been coming down and continued throughout our trip. The spillway out of Sibley Lake was incredibly high volume and fast water coming through the campground. We were thankful not to be camping in a tent as most of the Prune Creek campground has standing (and running) water everywhere.
Very few campers due to the rains and overflow.
But, this remains one of our favorite camps at this elevation. Fishing was non-existent in the streams as they were all blown out from the rains. Only had one strike up in the lake. Cannot do anything about the weather but put on your gear and go hiking.
At least the fire restrictions were off!

Really enjoyed our stay at Prune Creek. Pit toilets are kept clean. Guests are quiet and courteous. Walk bridge over the creek has been neglected for years and needs some TLC. Bear-proof lockers are available now (one in upper section and one in lower section), however they were people-proof too! (We couldn’t get them opened! Not that we needed them; we were just checking them out.)
Quite a few moose along 14 and 14A, and many, many elk. All-in-all, great campground!

The campground is very nice for our group. The only thing bringing down the experience is the toilets were not available in our area the first week and half of our stay.

We held a long overdue family reunion at Prune Creek to celebrate our parents' lives. They brought us to this campground starting when we were infants (80 years ago). The place is the same even though a few things in the campground have been upgraded; and the campground has been enlarged. We had 7 campsites plus 6 rooms at the Arrowhead Lodge. I wasn't able to hike over the hill to the upper river to fish, but the weeklong event was fun for everyone; renewing old memories and making new ones. We want to come back. This campground is a gem and we think it is next to heaven.

My site 10 was right on the creek and gorgeous. Nearby hiking at Shelby Lake provided much needed exercise. The removal or piling of beetle killed trees around the campground make it safer and more attractive.
