We had site 57 for 4 nights in August, entering the park late in the day at Gardiner. It is a pull through site perfect for a popup camper. Colder that I expected two mornings but warmed up quickly once the sun was over the treetops. Two thunderstorms while we were there but no big puddles anywhere. The campsite was decent, good table and bearbox, close to water and toilet. They are serious about all things that might attract bears. We got a written warning for leaving a cook stove attached to our popup camper while we were away from the campsite.
I'm glad we stayed in the park after seeing the long lines in the early morning to enter the park at West Yellowstone. There was no wait to reenter there after noon.

Sites are okay. Mainly overzealous camp hosts bring down this campground. For a campground that is no generators, the only noise comes from the camp host. Not sure what they are doing, but sounds like either a generator or air conditioner. Regardless, unexpected noise... coupled with the constant driving around with their go cart (propane?) checking on everyone. I would expect the host to be the most quiet, not the noisiest. Also, they are right on top of you exactly at 10am check out. I always work to follow the rules and was out at 10am, but the hosts are, as mentioned, are overzealous. Find new hosts and maybe we will be back to this campground.

Quaint campground. This spot is a little tight with a neighbor close by but still is beautiful and has a straight shot walk to a secluded river.

I really liked the campground. Nice setting and scenery, amenities were fine. I am giving the experience 3 stars instead of 3 or 5 because we had an oddly-configured site, and our tents were very close to the fire ring for the next site. One night the campers in the next site were up late around their fire and we had a hard time getting to sleep. Most other sites in the campground were better situated.
