What Guests Are Saying

Mammoth Campground is praised for its beautiful scenery, convenient location near Lamar Valley, and friendly hosts who maintain a clean environment. Many campers enjoyed the spacious and accessible sites, as well as the wildlife sightings, particularly elk and bison. However, some visitors noted that only one bathroom was open during their stay, leading to inconvenience, and there were occasional issues with campsite reservations. Overall, it's considered a great spot for exploring Yellowstone, especially in the off-season.

Great experience, as always. Top-notch friendly and helpful campground hosts, clean sites with beautiful views, easy proximity to Gardiner. All the NPS sites at Yellowstone have their own charms, but Mammoth is always my favorite.

Easy check in and out. There appeared to be some hiking trails nearby. deep spaces but not alot of space between you and your next door neighbor.

The campground is fine but the spots 66 and 67 are in a really step incline. It is impossible to level a camper which is quite bothersome.

Site 57 was great. Nothing is totally private but this gave us some sense of privacy in a crowded campground. Enough space to park off the roadway and decent distance away from restrooms. Would definitely recommend!

I Reserve site number 18 and probably one of the better sites in the campground. A great view overlooking the valley in the hills.. bathrooms were very clean.
AT&T has HOTSPOT had maybe one bar pretty much worthless Verizon wireless have up to four bars and pretty consistent

The campground was great. The sites are long pull throughs that make it easy for larger trailers. The worst part of the whole experience was the process of getting a reservation at this campground. The web site says it is on a 6 month rolling basis but that is not really true. I was then told a specific date that spots would be released and that turned out to also not be true. I was then told they will be released 14 days in advance. I was lucky to get a spot. The reservation system was very frustrating.

Beautiful views, peaceful, in the middle of nature. Not too big, clean bathrooms, loved the fire pit. We were warmly welcomed by an adorable couple of volunteers!

I love camping at Mammoth. It is clean. The bathrooms are spotless. You're close to Lamar Valley, which is my favorite spot. I also love driving out to Chico Hot Springs for a soak and a meal after a hard day of looking for bears, moose, and wolves. I love being close to Mammoth Hot Springs for lunch and dinner. All in all, Mammoth is as good a campground as there is.

The tent bed is nice and flat. The campsite has a nice view. Its very close to a restaurant and grocery store. U can use the showers of the hotel for $5 with no time limitation.
