What Guests Are Saying

Mammoth Campground is praised for its beautiful scenery, convenient location near Lamar Valley, and friendly hosts who maintain a clean environment. Many campers enjoyed the spacious and accessible sites, as well as the wildlife sightings, particularly elk and bison. However, some visitors noted that only one bathroom was open during their stay, leading to inconvenience, and there were occasional issues with campsite reservations. Overall, it's considered a great spot for exploring Yellowstone, especially in the off-season.

Thank you. Only wish the Elk were in the campgrounds. I know it would not have safe for us being that they were calving.

It is a real nice campground everywhere. The hosts are so kind and solve me many puzzles. This is the first time when I slept 9.5 hours in campground because the place make me feel so safe.

Mammoth opens for early season and I stayed for 3 nights. Overall, it’s a great stay for early season. The view is fantastic, and campsite quiet. Although, location wise it’s a bit of driving especially when there is traffic

Campground hosts were cordial. They continuously patrol the campground in a loud gas-powered golf cart. Good for safety but a bit disturbing from the noise! Go electric.
Campground and bathrooms were clean. Lots of Bison and elk roaming through camp. Overall camping experience was enjoyable except for that golf cart!
