What Guests Are Saying
Mammoth Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with clean facilities and stunning views, making it a great base for exploring Yellowstone. Campers appreciated the helpful staff, wildlife encounters, and easy access to nearby trails. While some restrooms were closed during certain seasons and check-in could be slightly confusing, the overall atmosphere remained peaceful and enjoyable for visitors.

Great late season camping. It is really bad to be awaken by elk bugling at day break. The deer and elk wandered through the campgrounds around dark. The bathrooms were clean and heated. Great time.

They have the most amazing staff! I made a trip back there this past weekend because I had such a wonderful experience a few weeks ago!! Bathrooms are clean, staff is great, and the sites are perfect! You can hear wild animals from your sites as you fall asleep!!

Potable water is available throughout the campground, even in mid to late October. They told us the water would remain on until the campground closes, so you do not have to haul your own water.

Loved our 4 days at Mammoth at Site #32!. Sites are well spaced and #32 has a great open view on the mountains. Facilities were clean and it took a little walk to get to the nearest but not overly so. Elk frequently come through the campground and also went through Mammoth Springs in the morning and night so tons of photo ops. Huge bonus to have a clinic there in Mammoth Springs. The doctor has run this practice for 30+ years and we were able to schedule a same day appointment, get diagnosed (pneumonia) and get the antibiotics at the clinic. The town was a little short on good places to eat but it was end of season and there was a nice restaurant just outside the park. Highly recommended, we will be back.

The campground was great. It is undoubtedly an excellent location. The staff we dealt with were friendly, attentive and professional.
The facility itself was great. Lots of water spigots available for potable water (that is much better than the water from the RV park that we've stayed in at Gardiner at almost 10 times the cost/night). Being solar powered, the site is open enough to gather power to recharge our batteries, so we didn't have to resort to our generator to recharge. Site was level, had a nice picnic table and fire-pit. Bathroom facilities were well maintained and clean. I don't think we could have asked for more.

The campground was an outstanding experience. We had two different herds of elk wander through the site on two different evenings. Because of the new road to Gardiner, the old road (below the site and in our view) has been abandoned which really added to the serenity of the experience. The bathrooms were outstanding! Nicely crafted woodwork, flush toilets, nice tile and even a heater! We met several other campers from Quebec, Ontario Canada and even a couple originally from Portugal. Everyone was really friendly. We spent three nights there and really enjoyed the northern area of the Park. I will definitely make this an annual fall event!

Great spot and awesome that we could make reservations. Things were quiet during quiet hours.
