What Guests Are Saying
Mammoth Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with clean facilities and stunning views, making it a great base for exploring Yellowstone. Campers appreciated the helpful staff, wildlife encounters, and easy access to nearby trails. While some restrooms were closed during certain seasons and check-in could be slightly confusing, the overall atmosphere remained peaceful and enjoyable for visitors.

The campground hosts were helpful and available to provide information and answer questions. We had unreliable cellular service via AT&T at the campground. The restroom facilities were clean and stocked. The locations of water spigots were convenient.

Would recommend campsite #45 - fantastic view of the open field where we had a herd of Elk, a Grizzly Bear with 2 cubs, and an Eagle come by. We stayed in multiple places in Yellowstone - this is the only place where we wanted to come back early for dinner just to see what would show up.

The surroundings were beautiful, and the camp hosts were very friendly. However, I find it outdated that a campground doesn't have showers or wastewater disposal options. You have to carry your dishwater to a restroom building because they're afraid bears might wander onto the campsite.

We stayed in site #34 and it had beautiful, beautiful views! The sites were pretty close together, but that is how most of the national park campsites are. The bathrooms were clean, and did I mention the views? Ha! Mammoth Springs was very close to National Park restaurants, gas, post office, etc.
We enjoyed our stay here immensely.

Our campsite was excellent and we enjoyed the views. Unfortunately, we could only get a reservation for 1 night and we noticed the next day all campers were heading out like us. It’s a shame that more consecutive nights aren’t available at Yellowstone unless you book a year in advance. Potable water, restrooms, and Ranger station were all great at Mammoth.

Great location for all of the activities in the Northwest part of the park! Seems to be a bit more frequently hit by storms though!

Mammoth Campground is my favorite of any place I've camped in the country; it's beautiful, quiet with room between the campsites. People seem to be cancelling if they are unable to use their reservation and that's so helpful

My spot did not have any shade, which has unfortunate due to the heat the days I was there. I did like the location, it made it easy getting to Lamar Valley early in the morning.
