Mammoth Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with clean facilities and stunning views, making it a great base for exploring Yellowstone. It would be great if wood was available for sale in the campground. Attendants and camp hosts all said wood was only available in town.
Otherwise it was a fun adventure, well probably do it again in the future.

Mammoth is conveniently located and has all the amenities you could ask for: clean facilities, friendly staff, and well equipped sites. This is a good place to stay for visiting the west side of the park.

Nice clean restrooms. Paved loop. Generators annoying. Allowed 8am to 8pm. Easy location with large sites.

It is a very large campground, with spaces close together. It was suitable for a one-night stay in the park, but I would have preferred one of the primitive campgrounds. Those were all closed for the season.

We were in site 20A in Mammoth campground, which is very close to the main road. The traffic noise was terrible. Huge noisy asphalt trucks we’re going up and down the road all day starting about 5:30 in the morning and continuing until late afternoon and sometimes into the evening for road construction. These sites which are so close to the road should be closed. Don’t reserve any sites below number 35 A. This was a very unpleasant experience compared to our prior stays at this campground.

It was a great location close to Gardiner and Mammoth Hot Springs. We especially liked the tent pads made setting our family size tent a breeze. The campground is a great hub to venture out into Yellowstone. Overall we enjoyed our visit and hope to come back again.
