What Guests Are Saying
Mammoth Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with clean facilities and stunning views, making it a great base for exploring Yellowstone. Campers appreciated the helpful staff, wildlife encounters, and easy access to nearby trails. While some restrooms were closed during certain seasons and check-in could be slightly confusing, the overall atmosphere remained peaceful and enjoyable for visitors.

I loved the campground!!!!
The area was big (included area to park my van and set up a tent), picnic table, was near the bathroom (very clean), and bear box.

We loved the campground! It is tiered so you have a clear view of the beautiful hills at most sites. This also makes it feel more private. Most (maybe all?) sites are pull through which was great. No showers on site, there’s a laundromat that has 3 showers in Gardiner, and it cost $5 (in quarters-they had a change machine) for 10 minutes. Bathrooms at the campground were clean and nice though. Bear boxes at every site. Elk walked through the campground a lot which was cool for the kids! Great location to get to town (Gardiner) or head right into Yellowstone on the top of the figure-8 Grand Loop. There is road noise because you’re right in the corner of a switchback, but we still loved it for the location and view!

Beautiful campground, nestled on the side of a hill. Conveniently located 2 miles from Mammoth. The bathroom facilities were very clean and well stocked. Love the trees in the campground that provide some privacy. Only downside- this is right off the main road so there is road noise. The road was quiet at night, but a lot of cars go by during the day. It didn’t really bother us- but it might be a problem for others. Compared to other campgrounds/ I will choose to stay here again!

Our stay at Mammoth was very lovely! It was small enough not to feel cramped and the restrooms were really nice. Bear box and grills in every campsite was nice. Excellent views!
