What Guests Are Saying
Mammoth Campground offers a beautiful natural setting with clean facilities and stunning views, making it a great base for exploring Yellowstone. Campers appreciated the helpful staff, wildlife encounters, and easy access to nearby trails. While some restrooms were closed during certain seasons and check-in could be slightly confusing, the overall atmosphere remained peaceful and enjoyable for visitors.

NO PHONE SERVICE. Be prepared to have no phone reception anywhere in Yellowstone National Park.
Mammoth Campground is a beautiful spot nestled in the mountains with incredible morning views. The campground is on a hill in-between two streets, but we didn't have any problem with car noise at night. Only when a large semi truck would come through, which was rare. The campgrounds are close to your neighbors, but you still feel surrounded by nature. Lots of elk!
If you are looking for a nice spot to sleep with bathrooms and beautiful views, this is a great campground.

I camped at site #45. Beautiful scenery looking at the mountains, and the ground was flat and comfortable with tent. The bathrooms were clean and the campground was quite. I would definitely stay here in the future.

Lots to see and do. Mineral Springs features were amazing. This was our first Yellowstone stay in the park. Mineral Springs features were amazing. We saw elk and my husband heard the male elk call. I came back home and read about male elk in the Mineral Springs area just at the time we visited. Campgrounds were clean and quiet.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Elk were plentiful, the campground is well maintained. The area is fantastic, with a lot of fun stuff to do and see. We will definitely stay here again.

Our favorite campsite in all of Yellowstone! So many awesome hiking trails and hot springs near the campground. Highly recommend hiking Beaver Pond, Lava Creek, and Bunson Peak. We loved seeing the elk (from a respectful distance) in town.

Rangers in the campground were great - stopped and talked to us and provided info on the animal behavior. Love the campground -we’ll be back! Would have appreciated a shower house, but wouldn’t stop us from coming back. Love the new reservation system.

Great campground, great hosts. And the hike up Mammoth Hot Springs is easy. Stay away from the elk herds that roll through the campground. They’re beautiful, though.
