Corinth Recreation Area is a well-maintained and beautiful campground, offering large, private sites in a serene setting. Campers appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities, friendly staff, and the peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite destination for relaxation. While some visitors noted the need for more showers and better phone access for emergencies, the overall experience remains highly positive, with many planning to return.

Corinth is our favorite place to camp. The sites are clean, spacious, quiet and well maintained. We love the beauty of Smith lake and the wildlife we encounter.

The sites are to small for both rv and vehicle. So much so your vehicle will be almost in the road by cm or inches. No room for 2 vehicles. The host was rude. A storm was coming and our friends took their tent down so they wouldn't get struck by lightning. The host told them to put it back or leave. It would forfeit their stay. Idk why because their vehicle and boat was still in the spot. The park ranger was really nice about everything and told us not to worry about the host. Because it didn't say that in the rules like the host said. The beach area was nice but fare away from the sites. So we'll definitely not be going back.

What an amazing campground! The hosts keep the campground clean & facilities in excellent shape. My campsite was large and private. Lots of excellent hikes nearby. Will definitely be back soon!

We stayed at Corinth Recreation June 6-16 in a Newmar DutchStar (43 feet) in site 7 on Yellow Hammer Loop. My husband had to back far in the site, but we were able to level with ease. The plus was we had a satellite signal from Direct TV and we had 2 bars/LTE on our Verizon phones. After reading many reviews I came prepared to be off the grid (no signal for TV & phone, but pleasantly surprised). Unfortunately, a bad storm came through the third night we were there and messed up the electrical so we moved the next morning. We moved to site 13 on the Yellow Hammer loop and it was another great spot to get level (although my husband had to park closer to the picnic side than closer to the sewage) and we didn't get a satellite signal (if that's important to you). Going into a site that is almost level is what we look for the most.
Overall this is a great park. For those of you who are hesitant about a 43-foot motorhome, don't be. Go for it! It's a great park and I know sites 7 and 13 on the Yellow Hammer loop you'll be able to level. :) I Love Army Core of Engineer parks and all the space you get for the money. Plus Corinth has full hookups! You can't be it!

There is ZERO shade at #38. It's in FULL SUN all day long. I would have never reserved this spot had I known. It is listed as being in the shade but that's false. We were absolutely miserable from being in the sun all day (early July 2022) with no escape (unless you hike down in the woods).. There is also no shade at the awful swimming area either. There is no parking near the water. It's far down a steep hill from the parking area. The swim area is clay and rocks, do not go barefooted into the water. I do not recommend Corinth. Do yourself a favor and go to Clear Creek Recreational Area, it has the same staff but that park is beautiful, shaded and most of the sites are waterfront. The swim area is also huge and sandy in most areas.

This facility is a Gem! We stayed in the Firefly Loop Site #33 along with friends who stayed in #34 & also #35. The camp host is another Gem. She was very helpful with information, firewood and ice. Area is gated and patrolled often. Sites are spacious, offer shade in most, some have a small glimpse of Lewis Smith Lake and the area is bicycle friendly. Our site was clean and well groomed. Sounds like everything was too perfect huh? Well there is more. The loop down where the tent camping is also goes to a parking loop with water access/launching (good fishing & great for kayaks) and is also a beautiful area. We rode through the yellowhammer loop which also looked well maintained as well but we did not get out and look at any sites. The Day Use area is just outside of the gated campground and has plenty of picnic sites, a beach/swim area, a large boat launch area with parking and a restroom. What could make this place any better? If I had to come up with something it would be to maybe stock the office with a few camping necessities and ice cream. If you visit be sure and visit the old church/graveyard just outside the Campground/Day Use Area. Short trip into Double Springs which offers food, gas, groceries etc. Be sure and visit Bankhead National Forest with its many trails and waterfalls. Great Stay!

Very nicely kept campground. Has the nicest sewer hook up area I have ever seen at a campsite. The only issue I had is that there is a lot of poison ivy around the campsite we stayed in. I know it is nature, but I am very allergic to the stuff and had to be extra careful with our dogs and us. In spite of that, I would highly recommend this campground. Very peaceful and well maintained. I will definitely be back.
