We found Trail River Campgrounds to be well maintained. We enjoyed the peace and beauty of the Chugach National forest and Kenai Lake in our stay at this campground.

Trail Rive is a favorite. Plenty to do with the lake and river right there, as well as both Seward and Cooper Landing (not to mention Moose Pass) within a relatively short drive. Love the spruce loop campsites and the host does a great job of keeping sparkling clean restrooms.

Campground host was ignoring increasing bear issues with campers food/trash. Bears were entering tents and entering RV's in search of more food.

The camp had an active brown bear coming into camp each day. Be bear aware!!

We had a great time at the campground itself as we always do. We’ve been coming here several times a year for over a decade. That being said, the road into the campground is in terrible shape right now and honestly should be closed. We blew a tire driving over one of the many huge potholes that are unavoidable and were driving less than 10mph. We have reservations again in August and are considering cancelling.

When I made the reservations I could reserve a spot for Thursday night but Friday and Saturdays were listed as FCFS. So when we showed up and the site was reserved for that Friday and Saturday we were upset. We ended up staying in another spot for Thursday - Saturday. So we ended up paying for 2 spots on Thursday!.

Great campground with private lots and close access to the beautiful Kenai Lake. I wish there were more sites near the water.

The road going into the camp had huge holes...very difficult for campers and trailers to go in without tearing up their rigs. When reserving the sites it would not let us reserve for the weekend, because they were listed as first come first serve. However others were able to rent the sites, do I am not sure why. Camp hosts were great and worked hard to find us camp sites. Nerve racking to say the least!!
