What Guests Are Saying
Burnt Corral Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting along Apache Lake, with friendly and helpful hosts. Many guests appreciated the spacious campsites, clean facilities, and peaceful environment, making it a great spot for water activities and nature enjoyment. However, there are concerns about pricing inconsistencies, restroom cleanliness, noise from other campers, and issues with trash management that detract from the overall experience.

Awesome campground, clean bathrooms clean campsite and the camp host was awesome! She was very knowledgeable and helpful, very nice. I was at site #69 very close to the lake, beautiful views. I’ll be going back there often and at the same campsite.

Excellent campground and fantastic location on the Salt River. The campground was clean and the camp hosts and co-hosts were friendly and answered questions. Cell coverage (AT&T) was non-existent, but you are camping, and we didn't have service until we were back to the highway 188. Would highly recommend the campground and will be back.

In providing driving instructions Reservations.com said the last few miles of the road would be dirt. The few miles turned out to be 11 miles for me, and that’s when I turned around. 20 foot wide dirt road, 200 feet sheer drop on the right into the lake, 400 foot plus mountain on the left, and hairpin curves. Probably satisfactory for a four-wheel-drive, but far from satisfactory for four-door luxury car. A better explanation of the travel route is absolutely needed.

PS…. I did get a refund.

Clean, quiet area. A bit challenging to get to hauling a camper but no issues. Camp hosts were great, lots of restrooms, beautiful lake views. We will be back!!

The composting toilets smell too much to be composting but other than that, this campground is a delight. Lots of birds and pretty vegetation. Very clean. A larger trailer is going to be scratched by branches in many spaces, but at the same time, those bits of shade will be useful in warmer months. Higher numbered sites near the water slope quite a bit. We were there on Super Bowl weekend and it was quiet by 9 pm.

I went on my first solo camping trip at Burnt Corral campsite and I am so happy I did. The drive in was beautiful and my campsite had an incredible view. The camp hosts made me feel comfortable and my neighbors shared their fire so I didn't have to build my own. It was a great weekend!

Our stay here at burnt corral was wonderful. The camp was clean and the hosts were kind, attentive and helpful. We got a small phone signal on the bench by the boat ramp, but otherwise there is no signal anywhere. Don’t be turned off by the 5 mile dirt road. It seems really sketchy as you go down it for the first time but after one trip you know what to expect. Just make sure the first time you drive it is during daylight hours.

We made the wrong turn at Upper Burnt Corral, turned around and continued down to the campground. Easy to navigate and find our campsites. Campsites in good condition, I loved #13 because it was up high and I had a great view (although not high enough to see the lake). We hiked the Vineyard Trail near the bridge that crosses at the dam. Great views of Apache and Roosevelt Lakes, and Four Peaks, Mt. Ord, and the surrounding area. We did not use the water area, too cold. But we saw a band of about 30 coatimundi one evening. Will definitely come back when the weather gets warmer.
