We have been going to Windy Hill for two weeks twice per year for the past 25 years. This trip was, by far, the worst we ever had. We had a reservation for 14 days from April 10 through 24. Upon arrival, we were told that we had to leave by the 15th due to a paving project. We were told that "they" should have contacted us. "They" did not contact us. Fortunately, due to the professionalism and cooperation of the camp host and two rangers, we able to salvage the trip, at least to some degree.
This paving project was supposed to happen on Friday. Then it was moved to Monday. Then it was moved to Tuesday. Whoever was responsible for planning and executing this project should find another line of work - one that doesn't involve planning or execution of anything.
In addition, for the third trip in a row, the showers were closed.
You should be embarrassed.

Some of the faucets in the bathrooms are broken. There is no threading on the water spouts in the campground - needed to fill RV water. Some of the water spouts in the campground don't even work - can't get any water out of them. Only one boat ramp was open. Everyone had to wait in line for campsite water, sinks/faucets, toilet paper (ran out the first day), launching boats, etc. Lots of repairs needed.

Campground was awsome, Amphitheater was perfect for our celebration of life. The lake was perfect. Gracie with the Forest Service went above & beyond to make everything happen. Loved it.
