Had an amazing trip! We stayed at site 28 and our only complaint was that the drive to the campsite was shared with site 29.

We had a great time at Beaver Lake. The water is clear, so if you have snorkeling gear, bring it. We stayed at site #29, great view, but very tight. You share a driveway with your neighbor at #28, so there is not a lot of extra room. Fortunately, we have a smaller teardrop camper, so it worked out ok.
Be prepared for some wind if you are staying there, always had a breeze!

My son and I had a great time while camping here. It was a perfect spot in the shade with a walkway to the water. I am keeping a note of it so we can return to the same one in the future.

Be aware Site 08 is reached by backing down a mild curve and moderate incline with poor rear view mirror visibility and a couple of adjacent trees. A short walk around 20 vertical feet down the bluff gets you to the gravel/rocky beach. Staff (Thanks especially to Chuck and Tammy) was helpful and nice, both ranger/maintenance and volunteers. Gate hours are limited 1400-1900, but staff is on call. Site 5,6,7,and 08 are described as “standard electric” do not have water outlets, but water hydrant for your tank is only about 200’ back. These peninsula sites are served by dry toilets, no running water, but all sites on the island over the causeway have water. Most of the other sites also have covered tables, vs open table and fire ring at these sites.
Our site had a shorted power outlet which was fixed the same morning we reported it. A series of storms was in progress and the entire island was briefly off power, restored with temporary cable and a new buried cable. Three trees were knocked down. All this was rapidly addressed after wind of 40-50mph. Tent campers however will likely not enjoy the atmosphere of the 2 or 3 dry outhouses, but self contained unit campers will be ok. This site is very well managed. Full showers, bath and running water are in the modern bath facility at the top of the island. Lots of activities and dining nearby in/around Eureka Springs!
